About Us

Founded in 1977, the Lexington Pride Center is the oldest LGBTQIA+ organization in Kentucky. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that creates and manages safe and inclusive spaces, programming, and services, including Lexington’s LGBTQIA+ community center and the Lexington Pride Festival, at no cost to those we serve.

 About Lexington Pride Center


Location

The Lexington Pride Center is located at 389 Waller Avenue, Suite 100, Lexington, KY 40505. We are between Harrodsburg and Nicholasville roads, next door to the Waller Center shopping area, and near the University of Kentucky campus. The nearest bus stop to the Pride Center is on Harrodsburg road near St. Joseph’s Hospital. Free accessible parking is available in our on-site parking lot. 

 

Hours

The Lexington Pride Center is open from 10am to 6pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We are closed on Sunday, Monday, Friday, and Saturday.

COVID-19 Updates

  • We have resumed in-person services during regular open hours at the Lexington Pride Center. 

  • Referrals and support can also be provided by phone or email for those who don’t want to risk visiting the Pride Center in person. 

  • All visitors must wear a mask while inside the building  regardless of vaccination status. 

  • Masks and hand sanitizer are available for free for any visitor who needs them.

  • Some regular group meetings have been temporarily suspended to help ensure safety during the pandemic. Virtual options are available to attend most ongoing meetings. Contact us at (859) 253-3233 for more details.

Accessibility

The Lexington Pride Center is committed to access for and inclusion of  people with disabilities in our physical facility, programs, and services. We believe that reviewing and improving accessibility is a continual process and that it makes us a better organization for everyone in our community. Some of features that currently offer to improve accessibility include:

  • Wheelchair-accessible entry and bathroom;

  • Free on-site parking close to the entry door;

  • ADA compliant website

  • ASL interpretation, accessible seating area, restrooms, and parking area at the Lexington Pride Festival.

Tobacco-Free Policy

The Lexington Pride Center is a tobacco-free space in order to reduce involuntary exposure to secondhand smoke, raise awareness about tobacco disparities in the LGBTQIA+ community, and ensure that we offer a cleaner, safer and healthier environment for employees, volunteers, and visitors. The use of all tobacco products (including, but not limited to cigarettes, e-cigarettes, hookahs, vapes and all smokeless products such as chew or dip) is prohibited at the Center.
